Job summary

HE Parts International in Edmonton, Canada is seeking skilled mechanical technicians to rebuild major components for heavy equipment trucks. This hands-on role emphasizes diagnosis, repair, preventive maintenance, and safe operation within an engineering-focused shop.

You will work with experienced tradespeople, learn ERP systems, perform NDT testing, read blueprints, and contribute to minimizing downtime through quality workmanship and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous mechanical experience or equivalent education.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Proficient with common hand and power tools, machinery, and precision tooling.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with teardown of large and small components and assemblies.
  • Clean and prep parts for inspection.
  • Move components with cranes, jibs, pallets, forklifts.
  • Prepare and secure parts for transportation within the shop.
  • Maintain cleanliness for safety and housekeeping.
  • Learn to operate part and pressure washers and wash bay operations.
  • Perform NDT testing.
  • Complete inspection documents and upload photos for quotes.
  • Read maintenance manuals and drawings.
  • Learn to use the ERP management system and read blueprints.
  • Demonstrate an aptitude to learn and grow within the department.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The purpose of this position is to rebuild major components for mechanical drive heavy equipment trucks including but not limited to rear wheel groups, front corner groups, brake assembles and differentials.

Is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of equipment and machinery through expert diagnosis, repair, and preventive maintenance. This hands-on role is integral to minimizing downtime and supporting smooth operational workflows within engineering-focused organizations

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work as a team to assist with or teardown large and small components and assemblies
  • Clean and prep parts for inspection
  • Move components by operating overhead cranes, jib hoists and pallet jacks, forklifts, etc.
  • Prepare and secure parts for transportation throughout the shop area
  • Maintain a level of cleanliness throughout your work areas and the shop for good housekeeping and safety
  • Learn operation of part and pressure washers as well as paint and wash bay operations
  • Perform NDT testing
  • Required to fill out inspection documents completely, i.e. Complete all inspection packet forms and upload all needed pictures to proper files for quotes and estimates
  • Read maintenance manuals and drawings.
  • Understanding of proper use and care of micrometers and other instruments used for inspection and teardown
  • Learn to use the ERP management system
  • Use material analyzer to detect coatings and identify parent materialas needed
  • Perform all process on sub-assemblies
  • Demonstrate an aptitude to learn and grow within the department and shop
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Education & Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous mechanical experience or equivalent education is required.
Technical Skills
  • Strong mechanical aptitude is required.
  • Proficient with common hand and power tools, machinery, and precision tooling.
  • Familiarity with technical documents, diagrams, and blueprints is required.
  • Ability to operate a variety of supporting equipment is preferred.
  • Previous experience with an ERP system is preferred.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, lift, bend, and maneuver for extended periods.
