Job summary

The TCAT Division of Toromont Industries Ltd in Vaughan, Ontario, is seeking a Technical Training Instructor to identify training needs for Cat product lines, then schedule, develop and deliver courses. You will travel to customer sites or branches across Eastern Canada to ensure our workforce stays proficient and compliant in safe, efficient repairs.

You will work independently and as part of a team, coordinating with service trainers, apprenticeships coordinators and shop staff to build robust

Qualifications

• Diploma in Heavy Equipment, Truck & Coach or equivalent.
• Provincial Heavy Equipment Certification or Mechanics license.
• 5+ years diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing Caterpillar equipment (lead hand/field tech preferred).
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Caterpillar Service Software.

Responsibilities

• Develop, schedule and present training courses and seminars related to Cat's machine product line for customers and technicians.
• Remain current with Cat machine product line through ongoing self-development and formal training.
• Coordinate with Service Training Instructors, Apprenticeship Training Coordinator, shop Supervisors, PSMs, sales staff and customers to identify training requirements and develop schedules.
• Schedule and maintain training department classrooms, training bays, tools, projectors and equipment to optimize resources.
• Prepare evaluations and reports; provide feedback to service leadership on technician development.
• Perform other duties as delegated by the Service Training Supervisor.
