Qualifications

  • Ensure compliance with safety policies and operating standards.
  • Report any necessary repairs to the maintenance team.

Job description

NACG is seeking Haul Truck Operators to join our remote mining site team in the Fort McMurray area.

This is your opportunity to join one of the safest and largest contracts in the region.

For this role NACG offers a combined rate of up to $48.73 / hour as well as room for growth!

Where Youll Be Working

  • Site : Suncor Base Mine
  • Schedule : 14 x 14 12hour days (paid for 11.5 hours).
  • Accommodations : Camp is not provided.
  • Transportation : Bussing provided from Fort McMurray to site (before and after shifts)
  • Overtime : Provided after 8 hours in a day or 44 hours in a week.

Responsibilities

What Youll Be Doing

  • Operate various makes and models of haul trucks transporting raw material from the mine for processing (CAT / Komatsu)
  • Ensure compliance to all company client and legislated safety policies operating standards and procedures
  • Using adequate and suitable safety equipment including PPE
  • Reviewing safe work plans / hazard assessment with prior to job commencement
  • Complete walkarounds safety checks and field level risk assessments and ensure the heavy equipment is running properly
  • Report any necessary repairs to the maintenance team or supervisors
  • Report all incidents damage and near misses immediately

  • Minimum one year experience in a mining atmosphere and running a rigid frame truck (777 up to 797 and 830 / 930)
  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma is considered an asset
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers License
  • Proficiency in English both written and verbal

  • OHS Alberta Legislation Awareness (Energy Safety Canada)
  • H2S Awareness (Energy Safety Canada)
  • Be subject to Random Testing at : Suncor Suncor Fort Hills and Kearl sites
  • Undergo and successfully pass the following preemployment testing :
  • Urine Drug Test
  • FitnesstoWork Health Assessment
  • Audiometric Testing
  • Vision Screening
  • Criminal Record Check

Once dispatched the following processes will occur :

  • Will receive a call from NACG to set up all required preemployment testing
  • An email will be sent with all required New Hire Paperwork to be filled out
  • After all results and paperwork are received by NACG candidates will be contacted by Site Admin to schedule orientation and confirm your start date and other sitespecific details.

Please note : The onboarding process can take anywhere from 38 business days.
