Job summary

Forbes Bros. Group of Companies is seeking an Equipment Operator to support transmission and distribution construction projects across Ontario.

You will operate heavy equipment, perform daily safety and maintenance checks, and work closely with the field team to ensure on‑time, quality execution. You will handle backhoes, excavators, skid steers, radial boom derricks and related equipment, following site plans and applicable regulations.

Qualifications

• Operator’s certificate from a licensed service provider.
• 3–5 years of experience operating heavy equipment (excavators, crawlers, loaders).
• Valid driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract.
• Class 3 (DZ) or Class 1 (AZ) licence with air brakes is an asset.
• Experience with backhoes, skid steers, mini excavators and radial boom derricks is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Operate assigned equipment including backhoes, skid steers, mini excavators, radial boom derricks and excavators.
• Follow site plans and safety/quality procedures; perform daily pre/use checks.
• Coordinate with the Fleet Foreman and construction team to meet project requirements.
• Maintain equipment documentation and daily inspection records.
• Ensure equipment is stored safely when not in use.
