Position Scope

NACG is seeking EXCAVATOR OPERATORS to join our remote mining site team in the Fort McMurray area. This is an excellent opportunity to join one of the region's safest and largest contracts.

We offer a combined rate of up to $58.16/hour and room for growth!

Where You’ll Be Working

• Site: Kearl
• Schedule: 14 x 14, 12-hour days and nights (paid for 11.5 hours). 14 days on, 14 off. 14 nights on, 14 off.
• Accommodations: Camp provided.
• Transportation: Flights from Edmonton or Calgary, bus from Fort McMurray to site.
• Overtime: Currently at blended rates with no overtime at Kearl.

We are proud to work with the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 955. Successful candidates will join this union.

• Operate various sizes of excavators to complete work
• Read stakes and set grades
• Follow safety policies and procedures
• Use PPE and safety equipment
• Review work plans and hazard assessments before starting
• Perform safety checks and risk assessments
• Report repairs and incidents immediately

Qualifications

What Makes You the ONE

• 2-3 years of excavator experience (870 or larger)
• Mining experience preferred
• Comfortable working in production environment
• Ability to excavate ditch slopes and grades
• Follow instructions for safe operation
• Safety-first attitude
• Strong listening skills
• High school diploma, GED, or higher; asset
• Proficient in English
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
