Position Scope

NACG is seeking Dozer Operators to join our remote mining site team in the Fort McMurray area. This is an excellent opportunity to work on one of the safest and largest contracts in the region. NACG offers a competitive combined rate of up to $55.42/hour and room for growth.

Where You’ll Be Working
  • Site: Kearl
  • Schedule: 14 x 14, 12-hour days (paid lunch). 14 days on, 14 off. 14 nights on, 14 off.
  • Accommodations: Camp provided
  • Transportation: Flights from Edmonton or Calgary; bus service from Fort McMurray to site
  • Overtime: Currently at Kearl, rates are blended with no overtime

We are proud to work with the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 955. Successful candidates will join this union.

Responsibilities
What You’ll Be Doing
  • Operate D9 - D11 Dozers and various models
  • Support shovels at the site as needed
  • Read stakes and set grades
  • Follow safety policies, operating standards, and procedures
  • Use appropriate safety equipment, including PPE
  • Review work plans and hazard assessments before starting work
  • Conduct safety checks and risk assessments on equipment
  • Report repairs, incidents, near misses, or damage immediately
Qualifications
What Makes You the ONE
  • At least 2 years operating D9 - D11 Dozers
  • At least 1 year working with mining shovels
  • Experience operating on muskeg/soft ground
  • Preferred: 1+ year in a mining environment
  • Ability to follow instructions safely
  • Safety-first attitude
  • Strong listening skills
  • High school diploma, GED, or post-secondary education an asset
  • Proficient in English (verbal and written)
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License

  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and recent Driver’s Abstract
  • CSO Certification
  • Wildlife Awareness (Wood Buffalo or Energy Safety Canada, including Bear Awareness) for Kearl
  • Subject to random testing at Suncor, Fort Hills, and Kearl sites
  • Pre-employment testing: Breath alcohol, urine drug, health assessment, audiometric, vision, criminal record check

Once dispatched, the process includes:

  • Scheduling pre-employment testing
  • Receiving and completing onboarding paperwork
  • Scheduling orientation and confirming start date

Please note: The onboarding process takes approximately 3-8 business days.
