SUBLATUS Environmental is looking for skilled Heavy Equipment Operators (excavator and dozer) for upcoming remediation and reclamation work.

Reporting to the Site Supervisor, the Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment safely and appropriately. The Operator also handles basic maintenance of equipment, ensures safety around equipment and on-site, and executes various job scopes throughout Alberta. Equipment includes excavators, dozers, and other types. Sublatus is committed to high safety standards and responsible work practices. The Heavy Equipment Operator must align with and enforce these standards at all times. Must be fit for duty at all times.

JOB DUTIES

• Follow procedures meticulously and maintain systems and equipment.

· Minimum of 2-5 years’ experience (5000+ hours) on remediation and reclamation sites with heavy equipment, working alongside skilled trades.

· Valid and current driver’s license with a clean driving record.

· Identify hazards effectively and implement strategies for safe and efficient work.

· Understand remediation and reclamation practices, including soil segregation with minimal mixing.

· Interpret grades offsite and incorporate them into onsite grading to restore natural conditions.

· Manage safe sloping/stepping in excavations and soil segregation.

· Prepare and load soil piles.

• Operate equipment safely during start-up and shut-down following pre-operational checks and procedures.
• Maintain and monitor equipment, adhering to maintenance schedules and gauge readings.
• Clean equipment as scheduled or when needed.
• Report maintenance or repair needs to the Foreman/Site Supervisor.
• Pay close attention to detail, and demonstrate organizational and decision-making skills.
• Exhibit strong interpersonal skills and represent Sublatus professionally.
• Willing to travel within western Canada.
• Mechanically inclined and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
• Willing to work extended hours and weekends.
• Identify hazards and maintain a safe work environment.
• Understand public safety issues and implement safe work practices.
• Pass drug and alcohol testing and meet fitness requirements (50 lbs).
• Perform other duties as required.

All employees must pass safety-sensitive requirements, including background checks, fitness tests, drug and alcohol tests, and driver record reviews. Employment depends on meeting these requirements, and further testing may be required periodically or after incidents.

Salary: $35.00 - $38.00 per hour
