Position Scope
NACG is seeking Articulating Truck Operators to join our remote mining site team in the Fort McMurray area.
This is your opportunity to join one of the safest and largest contracts in the region.
For this role, NACG offers a combined rate of up to $48.73/hour as well as room for growth!
Where You’ll Be Working
- Site: Fort Hills
- Schedule: 14 days on, 7 days off, 14 nights on, 7 nights off (14 x 7 schedule, paid for 11.5 hours per day)
- Accommodations: Camp provided
- Transportation: Flights to/from Edmonton or Calgary, bus from Fort McMurray to site
- Overtime: After 8 hours/day or 44 hours/week
We work with the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 955. Successful candidates will become union members.

Responsibilities
What You’ll Be Doing
- Operate 60-ton articulating frame haul trucks (e.g., Caterpillar, Komatsu, John Deere, Volvo) in mining or earthworks environments
- Perform pre-use equipment inspections
- Conduct risk/hazard assessments before and during tasks
- Participate in fueling and servicing equipment safely
- Interact with loading and dumping equipment
- Follow mine driving rules
- Coordinate with other contractor and client equipment
- Comply with safety policies, standards, and procedures
- Use appropriate PPE and safety equipment
- Review work plans and hazard assessments before starting
- Report repairs, incidents, near misses, or damages
Qualifications
- What Makes You the ONE
- Minimum 1 year experience operating 60-ton articulating haul trucks
- Experience working in mining environments
- Ability to operate rigid frame trucks if needed
- Safety-first attitude
- Attentive with strong listening skills
- High school diploma, GED, or post-secondary education (asset)
- Proficient in English (verbal and written)
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- CSO Certification
- Silica Awareness
- Wood Buffalo Wildlife Awareness
- Hydrogen Sulphide awareness
- OHS Alberta Legislation awareness

- Subject to random testing at Suncor, Fort Hills, and Kearl sites
- Successful completion of pre-employment tests:
- Breath Alcohol Test
- Urine Drug Test
- Fitness-to-Work Assessment
- Audiometric and Vision Tests
- Criminal Record Check
Once scheduled, you will undergo:
- Pre-employment testing setup call
- Completion of New Hire paperwork
- Orientation and start date confirmation
