Location: 340 Regional Road 20, Hamilton, ON
Pay: $29-$36 per hour (depending on experience)
Union Placement: Potential after a successful probationary period

Job Description:

As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will play a crucial role in our landscape construction operations, operating a variety of heavy machinery, including bulldozers, excavators, skid steers, and mini-excavators. This is a seasonal position running late into the year, with opportunities for winter work assisting our snow crews.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operate dozers, excavators, loaders, and other equipment to support landscape construction projects.
2. Perform grading, excavation, and material placement according to site plans and specifications.
3. Assist in building retaining walls and other hardscape structures using excavators and other machinery.
4. Conduct daily pre-operational equipment inspections to ensure safety and functionality.
5. Maintain accurate logs of equipment usage and site conditions.
6. Follow all safety protocols to maintain a secure work environment.
7. Perform manual labour tasks as required when equipment operation is not needed.

Requirements:

1. Valid Driver’s License with a good driver’s abstract
2. 1-3 years of experience in a similar role
3. Proficiency in operating bulldozers and excavators
4. Experience with grading work and building walls would be an asset
5. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
