Canadian Natural Resources Limited (CNRL) is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join the Mine Operations team at the Albian Oil Sands tailings operations in Fort McMurray, Alberta. The role reports to the Shift Team Lead and supports safety-first aims while operating dozers, rock trucks, graders, excavators, and loaders.

The position requires minimum Grade 12, 2+ years in tailings, and a valid Class 5 license.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ Tailings environment experience with equipment operation and tailings processes.
• Experience with cell construction and/or tailings fluid transfer equipment preferred.
• Marine Master’s Limited Certification would be an asset.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment (Dozer, Rock Truck, Grader, Excavator, Loader) in a Tailings environment.
• Support tailings operations and assist in cell construction and sand placement.
• Maintain compliance with Health and Safety requirements established by the company.
• Perform Permit Issuer, Area Operator, Area Authority, and Lock Out Authority duties.

As a valuable member of the Mine Tailings Department and reporting to the Shift Team Lead, you will support and implement the goals of Mine Operations by safely operating various kinds of equipment to complete operation’s objectives.

• Job location: Fort McMurray, Alberta - Albian Oil Sands site (Mine Tailings)
• Shift schedule: 7 x 7, 12-hour shift
• Safety sensitive position: Yes

• Comply with all regulations and legislative requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act for the Province of Alberta and environmental standards

What You Bring To The Role

• Grade 12 Diploma or Equivalency
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience directly in a Tailings environment, preferably experience with cell construction, tailings process, operating heavy equipment and/or fluid transfer equipment
• Marine Master’s Limited Certification would be an asset
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
