Job summary

Canadian Base Operators is seeking Airport Heavy Equipment Operators for their Firebag team in Fort Mackay, Alberta. This seasonal, full-time role involves maintaining runway surfaces and airfield areas, with a focus on snow and ice control.

Ideal candidates are experienced in aviation operations, committed to safety, and able to work a 4 days on, 3 days off rotation in a remote camp environment. Fly-In & Fly-Out rotation and camp accommodations are provided, along with paid flights from Calgary

Qualifications

• Heavy Equipment Operator Certification is required.
• High school diploma or post-secondary education is required.
• 3–5 years of experience in the aviation industry is preferred.
• Class 1 or 3 license with Q Endorsement or provincial equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain runway surfaces and airfield areas with emphasis on snow and ice control.
• Adhere to safety protocols and crew rotation schedules in a remote camp.
• Work a 4 days on, 3 days off rotation, including travel and shift requirements.

What You'll Need

• Heavy Equipment Operator Certification
• High school diploma or post-secondary education
• 3-5 years of experience in the aviation industry
• Class 1 or 3 license with Q Endorsement or provincial equivalent
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Radio License (aeronautical)

• Drivers Abstract
• Common Safety Orientation - Energy Safety Canada (asset)
• Pre-employment drug and alcohol test (and random testing)
