Job summary

Adams Lake Indian Band is seeking one casual on-call Civil Construction and Heavy Equipment Operator to work under the direction of the Adams Lake Band’s Director of Infrastructure in Chase, BC.

The role involves operating a backhoe/excavator and other heavy equipment on civil and commercial projects, performing circle checks, and upholding safe work practices for staff and community members. Training and certification as required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years demonstrated experience on an Excavator.
• Minimum 10 years demonstrated experience on a Dozer.
• Telehandler Level 1 certification.
• Proven backhoe experience.
• Civil installation experience required.
• WHMIS certification.
• Working knowledge of WorkSafe.
• Appropriate and valid driving/operating licenses.
• Experience with Laser Level.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

• Operating a backhoe/excavator and other heavy equipment as required
• Working in conjunction with the team
• Working on Civil and Commercial projects as necessary
• Circle checks and maintenance of equipment
• Critical thinking and problem solving with limited supervision
• Ensuring safe working practices for self, and others including Community members

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWELDGE AND SKILLS

• Must have a minimum of 10 Years demonstrated experience on an Excavator
• Must have a minimum of 10 Years demonstrated experience on a Dozer
• Must hold Telehandler Level 1 certification
• Must have proven back hoe experience
• Civil installation experience is required
• WHIMIS
• Working Knowledge of WorkSafe
• Appropriate and valid driving/operating licenses
• Experience with Laser Level
