Job description

THE COMPANY

Wurtz Bros. Ltd.was established in 1977, our over forty years of experience have firmly established us in the Heavy Construction Industry in southern Manitoba and we are a COR Certified company. Wurtz Bros. Ltd maintains specialized equipment and a skilled labour force to operate four divisions. The four divisions consisting of:Redi-Mix Concrete & Concrete Pumping, Aggregate Production and Supply, Heavy Civil Construction and Demolition Divisions.

In this role you will work in a permanent, full-time position of Heavy Equipment Operator .

a) Operateheavy equipmentin compliance with the company's operating safety policies and procedures.

b) Provide recommendations for maintaining and improving environmental performance.

c) Load and unload equipment from vehicles and trailers.

d) Operate the equipment in the right direction and angles to prevent accidents and damage of property.

e) Ensure company equipment, material, and the work site are maintained, kept clean, and stored in a safe manner. Collect and dispose of scrap, excess materials, and refuse.

f) Complete required paperwork, reporting, and other documentation.

g) Hand in all time sheets to office at the end of each day.

Maintenance Division:

a) Assist in regular maintenance on hydraulic excavators, loaders and dozer..

b) Maintain work logs, repairs, and maintenance records on equipment.

c) Ensure work space and shops are kept tidy and replace all tools used in the maintenance process.

d) Lock out, tag out damaged tools and equipment used in the shops.

Safety Division:

a) Work in a safe manner and complete Hazard Assessments regularly.

b) Complete tool box talks on a regular basis

c) Complete inspection check lists as listed on the paperwork schedule.
