Project Details:

Based at our project in Northern SK, this position offers a 3-week on / 3-week off rotation.

Responsibilities:

The Heavy Duty Mechanics on our remote project in Northern SK are responsible for:

  • Adhering to all policies and processes at the mine site and underground
  • Following all legislated regulations and company health & safety policies, prioritizing safety in all tasks
  • Performing equipment inspections for proper performance, defects, faults, and malfunctions
  • Conducting diagnostic testing to identify problems and determine solutions
  • Performing minor and major repairs on mining equipment such as Sandvik drills, CAT trucks, and scoops
  • Testing repaired equipment to ensure proper performance
  • Cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting equipment, replacing defective parts as needed
  • Filling out statutory logbooks as required
  • Performing other related duties as required

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic
  • Valid provincial (SK) or interprovincial journeyperson heavy duty equipment mechanic certificate
  • Provincially regulated Common Core
  • Previous underground mining experience
  • Welding experience preferred
  • Ability to work with various crews and adapt well to team environments
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Dependability and commitment to a 3-week on / 3-week off rotation
  • Positive attitude and proactive team member
  • Residents of Northern SK and Indigenous candidates are encouraged to apply

Pre-employment Requirements:

  • Alcohol and drug tests
  • Mine Rescue Medical
  • Criminal Record Check
  • Underground Mine Rescue Training

This position involves frequent air travel to and from the site, requiring compliance with all legislated travel requirements. The work schedule includes day and night shifts on a 21/21 rotation. Background checks, substance testing, and pre-employment testing are mandatory.
