Qualifications

As a mechanic on Pomerleau's Civil & Infrastructure team, you will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of the site's heavy vehicles and equipment. Working on large-scale construction projects - ranging from $1.5 million to over $1 billion - you'll have the opportunity to contribute to the success of various construction site operations.

What You Will Do
  1. Check operation of equipment and inspect various machines for faults and malfunctions;
  2. Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, fixtures or components using hand or power tools.
  3. Determine the nature of mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults and failures, using computerized and other monitoring equipment, to determine the extent of repairs required;
  4. Test repaired equipment to ensure proper operation, while respecting manufacturer's compliance and requirements;
  5. Produce an inspection certificate after repair and inspection;
  6. Clean and lubricate equipment and perform other routine maintenance;
  7. Perform periodic maintenance operations such as oil changes, lubrication and tune-ups;
  8. Discuss vehicle operations, general condition and future repairs with the supervisor;
  9. Follow training courses related to the acquisition of new equipment and machinery.
This role could be for you if you have
  1. Un certificat de compétence CCQ de mécanicien.ne en machineries lourdes valide;
  2. Être titulaire d’un DEP en mécanique d’engin de chantier;
  3. Posséder de 3 à 5 ans d’expérience pertinente;
  4. Posséder un permis de conduire classe 3 valide et un excellent dossier de conduite;
  5. Être familier avec le système de diagnostic CAT ET - un atout.
