Shop Mechanic / Field Technician

Due to growth, ALPA Equipment Ltd. is currently seeking a dynamic, motivated, and driven individual to join our service team!

This position is for a Shop Mechanic / Field Technician at our Moncton, NB location.

The Opportunity

Under the supervision of the Service Manager, the Shop Mechanic / Field Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing forestry, agriculture, and construction equipment, working both at the company shop and at various locations or work sites.

Responsibilities
  • Work at the company shop and travel to work sites for maintenance or repairs.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair forestry and construction equipment using electronic diagnostic tools and calibration devices.
  • Test parts and systems to ensure proper functioning.
  • Follow checklists to examine all critical parts.
  • Test and lubricate engines and other major components.
  • Perform basic maintenance such as oil changes and tune-ups.
  • Use testing equipment to verify repairs and maintenance effectiveness.
  • Overhaul and test machines or equipment for operational efficiency.
  • Repair or replace worn parts.
  • Disassemble and reassemble parts.
  • Make recommendations for future repairs or maintenance.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma and enrollment or completion of a mechanic journeyman certification program.
  • Computer skills.
  • Equivalent work/education experience may be considered.
  • Sound mechanical knowledge.
  • Millwright experience is an asset.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to work 40+ hours per week.
  • Bilingual (French/English).
