Job description

Dexter Construction Company is a large, diversified Construction Company engaged in all major aspects of the heavy civil construction industry within the Atlantic Provinces. We are currently seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Hauler to join our team, based out of our Bedford Quarry location.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

  • Safely transport a wide range of heavy construction equipment including excavators, paving equipment, and loaders to and from various job sites.
  • Operate a Class 1 Tractor Trailer (Standard preferred).
  • Ensure compliance with all transportation and safety regulations.
  • Accurately maintain and operate electronic logbooks (ELDs)
  • Perform daily safety and maintenance checks.
  • Secure loads properly and ensure all necessary documentation is completed.
  • Be always aware of surroundings.
  • Any other duties as required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, And Experience

  • Valid Class 1 Driver’s License with experience operating a standard transmission.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience hauling heavy construction equipment.
  • Working knowledge and experience with electronic logbooks.
  • Strong understanding of load securement procedures and equipment handling.
  • Ability to work long hours and be available for occasional weekend work.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and supervisors to ensure that projects are completed properly.
  • Working safely is a condition of employment.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment.
