Job Description - Automotive Journeyman Mechanic (251552)

Location : 26955 Ellis Rd, Acheson, T7X 6N3

Qualifications : Certified Automotive Journeyman license & CVIP Certification Preferred.

Responsibilities :

  • Diagnose malfunctions and perform vehicle repairs, including steering, electrical, cooling, brakes, drive trains, suspensions, engines, and related systems, ensuring all work complies with federal, state / provincial, and local guidelines. Test drive vehicles post-repair.
  • Arrange inspections and obtain approval for major repairs before vehicle release.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient work environment in compliance with all relevant regulations.
  • Identify and report additional necessary repairs during maintenance tasks.
  • Record work details, parts used, and time spent accurately.
  • Report unsafe conditions or vehicle abuse to the Lead Technician.
  • Perform road calls and on-site repairs as needed.
  • Uphold high ethical standards, personal integrity, and report suspicious or inappropriate behavior.

Minimum Requirements :

  • Automotive Journeyman license.
  • CVIP Certification (preferred).
  • At least 3 years of fleet maintenance experience, particularly with heavy trucks or buses, including engine rebuilds.
  • Experience with diesel and gasoline engines in a fast-paced fleet environment.
  • Proficiency with computerized diagnostics.
  • Basic shop computer skills, including purchasing and budget management.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Organizational skills are a plus.
