Position Overview:

Reporting to the Service Supervisor, the Heavy Duty Mechanic will be accountable for troubleshooting and Maintaining DSS and 4G systems on large mining fleets at two separate Syncrude locations. Working with the Customer and Supervision you will prioritize work throughout the day to address the customers most pressing needs.

Job Description:

Major Job Functions

• Trouble shooting equipment and perform equipment repairs
• Interface with customers, products and sales support
• Working with the supervisor on various tasks
• Providing support with reference to on-site safety requirements
• Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment
• Various related duties as required

Specific Skills & Experience

• Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification
• Minimum 1 year experience as a Heavy Duty Technician
• Dedication to safety
• Comprehensive DSS training and excellent knowledge of DSS, 4G and Vision Link systems is required
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal
• Understanding of the Caterpillar product line will be considered an asset
• Forestry & Mining equipment repair experience considered an asset
• Completed Finning S Level courses an asset
• Team player
  
  

Note:

• This position will work a 14x14 day shift, and will provide support to both Syncrude locations
• A condition of employment is the ability to be fit tested and the ability to wear a respirator
• Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement.
