Job summary

First Student is seeking a Heavy Duty Mechanic in Prince Albert, SK. This full-time, permanent role offers a daytime Monday–Friday schedule and a $5,000 New Hire Bonus plus a $5,000 Relocation Bonus for eligible candidates relocating to Prince Albert.

Wages range from CAD 39 to CAD 50 per hour, with comprehensive benefits including health, dental, vision, RRSP matching, paid vacation, boot allowance, and opportunities for training and career development.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson Heavy Duty Equipment Technician (Red Seal) or equivalent experience.
• Experience with diesel engines, commercial transport vehicles, or transit buses.
• Own a basic mechanic's tool set.
• Commitment to safety and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on school buses and commercial vehicles.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Maintain and repair brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and transmissions.
• Complete work orders and documentation accurately.
• Respond to mobile service calls when required.
