Job summary

First Student is hiring a Heavy Duty Mechanic for the Prince Albert, SK area. The role shares responsibility for maintaining school buses and commercial vehicles, with emphasis on safety, reliability, and efficiency.

A Red Seal or equivalent experience is required, along with a mobile-service capability as needed. We offer a competitive hourly wage, a $5,000 new hire bonus, relocation assistance, benefits, and ongoing training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson Heavy Duty Equipment Technician (Red Seal) or equivalent experience.
• Experience with diesel engines, commercial transport vehicles, or transit buses.
• Own a basic mechanic's tool set and commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repairs on school buses and commercial vehicles.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Maintain and repair brakes, suspensions, drivetrains, and transmissions.
• Complete work orders and documentation accurately.
• Respond to mobile service calls when required.
