Weinrich Contracting Ltd. is seeking a skilled Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our growing team! If you have experience working on heavy-duty equipment, are passionate about diagnosing and repairing complex machinery, and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you. You’ll be responsible for keeping our fleet of machines—everything from scrapers to grader—in top working condition so we can keep moving on our heavy civil construction projects.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

• Journeyman Certification: You are a Certified Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience working on heavy-duty machinery, including excavators, dozers, graders, and haul trucks.
• Mechanical Expertise: You know engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and drive trains inside and out. You're comfortable diagnosing and repairing complex mechanical issues quickly and efficiently.
• Equipment Knowledge: You have a broad understanding of a wide range of heavy equipment, including those used in civil construction, excavation, road building, and site prep.
• Preventative Maintenance: You’re proactive about conducting regular maintenance checks, keeping an eye on wear and tear, and ensuring that machines are always in optimal working condition to avoid costly downtime.
• Welding & Fabrication (Bonus): If you have welding or fabrication skills, that’s a bonus! Experience with welding, plumbing, or hydraulics will come in handy in keeping equipment in top shape.
• Problem-Solving Skills: You enjoy troubleshooting and resolving mechanical challenges, and you work efficiently to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
• Team Player: You collaborate with other mechanics, operators, and project managers to ensure that all equipment is functioning properly and on time.

Valid Certifications & Tickets:

• Heavy Duty Mechanic Certification is required.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (or higher) is required.
• WHMIS and CSTS20 (or willingness to obtain).
