Job summary

United Rentals is seeking an Experienced Diesel Mechanic (Service Tech IV) to maintain and repair complex equipment with minimal supervision. You will travel to sites when needed, train junior technicians, and ensure accurate documentation.

A strong customer focus and safe work practices are essential. Applicants should have 5+ years of relevant experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to lift up to 45 lbs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools.
• Must own tools applicable to position.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills.
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment.
• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance as needed.
• Assist in training lower level technicians.
• Maintain paperwork and work orders daily.
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts.
• Other duties assigned as needed.

As a Diesel Mechanic - Experienced (Service Tech IV), you’ll use your skills to perform maintenance and repairs of complex equipment with limited or no supervision in a highly skilled, safe, and professional manner. What You’ll Do

• Maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment and tools while using a high degree of independent judgment
• When required, travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of rental or customer owned equipment; must maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner
• Assist in the training of lower level technicians as needed
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily basis
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts
• Other duties assigned as needed

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
• 5+ years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools
• Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools
• Extensive knowledge of construction equipment with an advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams
• Must own tools applicable to position
• Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
• Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.
