Job summary

Blackline Civil Inc. in Alberta is seeking a Heavy Duty Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel-powered vehicles and equipment to keep operations safe and efficient.

You will diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, repair trucks, loaders, and excavators, and perform preventative maintenance while keeping accurate service records. A strong commitment to safety and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• Journeyman HD Mechanic certification or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Experience with brands like CAT, Komatsu, John Deere (preferred).
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.

About the Role

We’re looking for a skilled and reliable Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team. You’ll be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy equipment and diesel-powered vehicles to ensure safe and efficient operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues
• Perform repairs on heavy-duty equipment (e.g., trucks, loaders, excavators)
• Conduct routine maintenance and preventative servicing
• Complete inspections and maintain accurate service records
• Ensure all work meets safety and regulatory standards
• Work collaboratively with operators and supervisors
  

Qualifications & Experience

• Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic certification (or equivalent experience)
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
• Experience with brands like CAT, Komatsu, John Deere (preferred)

• Valid driver’s license (Class 1 or 3 is an asset)
