Purpose

The successful applicant must be competent in inspecting, repairing, and maintaining underground mobile mining equipment. Performing work on structural, mechanical, electrical and electronic systems.

Responsibilities

  • Will be trained in troubleshooting, disassembling, repairing, and performing predictive and preventive maintenance on underground mobile equipment
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems, using hand and power tools
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturer’s specifications
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work of equipment
  • Service attachments and working tools such as blades, ploughs, winches and side booms
  • Responsible for compliance with OHSA, Corporate and Porcupine Environmental Regulations, Safety and Sustainability Standards
  • Responsible to work collaboratively with others to achieve organizational goals both within the department and cross-department
  • Must be highly motivated, organized and must be capable of decision-making
  • Responsible for providing own tools
  • Assisting in other works areas may be required

Training and Education

  • Successful completion of the intermediate in school training sessions (level 1) and 30% of the required hours for their trade

  • Must be willing to work with others
  • Be technically competent
