Job summary

Herc Rentals is seeking a Mechanic B to lead maintenance on our fleet and uphold quality standards. You will learn branch, regional, and national procedures while mentoring C level mechanics to keep equipment on the ready line.

The role emphasizes preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and hands-on repairs with minimal supervision, in a busy branch environment. Eligibility includes a HS diploma and strong tool knowledge.

Qualifications

• Understand detailed technical schematics, manuals and labels.
• Own a selection of hand and air/electric tools to complete repairs.
• Operate and test equipment such as boom lifts, forklifts, generators, hydraulics and pumps.
• HS diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a preventive maintenance schedule for all Herc fleet at your branch.
• Operate and test equipment to meet Herc quality standards.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs with minimal supervision.
• Diagnose engines, electrical, hydraulics, and fuel systems.
• Enter work orders and order parts via the fleet management system.
• Assist in training C Mechanics under shop lead direction.
