Job summary

An established industry player is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join their team in a dynamic role focused on heavy truck maintenance and repair. This position involves instructing apprentices, troubleshooting and inspecting equipment, and ensuring all repairs meet strict manufacturer specifications. The ideal candidate will possess a Commercial Vehicle Inspection Certificate and have experience in diesel engine repair, including fuel injection and exhaust systems. Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of experience in diesel engine repair and maintenance.

Responsibilities Tasks
  • Instruct apprentices
  • Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
  • Order parts and maintain inventory
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts
  • Keep maintenance reports and documentation
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance and to ensure that work meets manufacturers' specifications
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other maintenance work
  • Perform repair work on heavy trucks
  • Service attachments and working tools
  • Verify and repair emission control systems
  • Assist process and machine operators in mineral ore and metal processing
  • Perform other routine maintenance
