Job summary

FirstService Residential Canada is seeking a Heavy-Duty Cleaner Floater to maintain interior and exterior cleanliness across properties to ensure owner and guest satisfaction.

Located in Toronto and surrounding areas, the role supports sites in Downtown, Midtown, North York, Scarborough, Mississauga, Etobicoke, Oshawa, and more. The position offers hourly pay of $17.90 with two shifts per day, Monday through Sunday, 8:00am–4:30pm.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of standard methods, practices, tools and equipment used in janitorial service.
• Knowledge of the proper use of chemicals, fertilizers, and pesticides.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to operate janitorial tools, equipment and cleaning solutions; capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
• Aware of occupational hazards and safety rules and regulations.
• Knowledge of building and property security procedures.
• Ability to explain instructions and guidelines to others.
• Ability to prioritize the work of others.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and services restrooms.
• Sweeps, vacuums, and mops floors and stairways.
• Gathers and disposes of rubbish and waste materials.
• Observes premises and equipment; reports needed repairs or safety hazards.
• Dusts blinds, furniture, file cabinets and windowsills.
• Polishes furniture, metal work and chrome.
• Maintains inventory of cleaning and toiletry supplies.
• Washes walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows and fixtures.
• Cleans grounds and parking areas from litter.
• Loads and unloads supplies and moves heavy items.
• Replaces light bulbs and fuses.
• May perform ground maintenance including snow removal.
• Assists in moving garbage bins and maintains the compactor room.
