Job summary

GDI Services (Canada) LP seeks a part-time janitor to maintain cleanliness across building interiors, including floors, washrooms and common areas, and to collect and dispose of garbage daily.

You will perform sweeping, mopping, window cleaning on request, restock supplies, and assist with extra cleaning tasks as needed. The role requires reliability, the ability to work with minimal supervision and owning transportation to the site.

Qualifications

• Requires attention to detail and high energy to deliver consistent cleaning results.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and wash floors, stairs and other surfaces inside buildings.
• Strip and wax floors and clean windows on request.
• Wash windowsills and interior/exterior glass as needed.
• Restock paper supplies and clean bathrooms daily according to procedures.
• Collect and dispose of building trash daily; replace liners as required.
• Monitor for defects (clogged urinals, lights) and report to supervisor.
• Move between two buildings for showers and daily cleaning tasks.

General Description

A janitor is generally responsible for the cleaning of all hard floor surfaces and carpets, washrooms, common areas, offices, and the collection and removal of garbage from drop points to a garbage bin. Other responsibilities could be included.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and wash floors, stairs and other surfaces (inside buildings).
• Stripping and waxing, steam cleaning carpets and cleaning windows – on request only
• Wash windowsills; glass in interior doors, partition, and specified windows.
• Wash glass and trim at entrance doors, interior/exterior- Wash/spot clean interior walls as appropriate daily.
• Clean bathrooms and restock paper supplies daily. Standard bathroom procedures are to damp wipe glass surfaces, empty waste baskets, service soap and toilet paper dispensers, dust sills, clean tile walls, shelves, stall partitions, sweep/mop/scrub floors, etc.
• Assist the supervisor with any other assistance that requires help from the employee.
• Monitors possible defects such as clogged urinals and lights out, and reports to supervisors.
• There will be showers, they will have to go between the two buildings (they are across the street from each other).
• Collect building trash daily placing it in approved container and place in designated collection area for subsequent removal.
• Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers per specs.
• High dusting, wall washing
• compactors, lifting up to 50lbs, using heavy duty machines, changing garbage.

• Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment.
• Must have own transportation
• Requires attention to detail, a pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.
