General Description : A janitor is generally responsible for cleaning all hard floor surfaces, carpets, washrooms, common areas, offices, and collecting/removing garbage from drop points to garbage bins. Other responsibilities may be included.

Responsibilities :

1. Sweep, mop, and wash floors, stairs, and other surfaces (inside buildings).
2. Strip and wax floors, steam clean carpets, and clean windows – on request only.
3. Wash windowsills; glass in interior doors, partitions, and specified windows.
4. Wash glass and trim at entrance doors, interior/exterior. Spot clean interior walls as needed daily.
5. Clean bathrooms and restock paper supplies daily. Standard procedures include damp wiping glass surfaces, emptying waste baskets, servicing soap and toilet paper dispensers, dusting sills, cleaning tile walls, shelves, stall partitions, and mopping floors.
6. Assist the supervisor with additional tasks as needed.
7. Monitor for defects such as clogged urinals and lights out, and report to supervisors.

There will be showers; employees will need to go between two buildings located across the street from each other.

1. Collect building trash daily, placing it in approved containers and designated collection areas for removal.
2. Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers as per specifications.
3. Perform high dusting and wall washing.
4. Handle compactors, lift up to 50 lbs, operate heavy-duty machines, and change garbage.

• Ability to follow directions, work with minimal supervision, and cooperate as part of a team.
• Ability to operate cleaning tools and equipment.
• Own transportation required.
• Attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, organization, high energy, and endurance.
