Job summary

GDI Services (Canada) LP is seeking a part-time heavy duty cleaner for weekend shifts in Oakville, ON. You will clean floors, washrooms, offices and common areas, and handle waste collection between two buildings across the street.

The role requires reliable transportation, attention to detail, endurance, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. A criminal background check is required as part of the process.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and wash floors, stairs and other surfaces inside buildings.
• Strip, wax, steam clean carpets, and clean windows on request.
• Wash windowsills; glass in interior doors, partitions, and windows.
• Spot clean interior walls and wash glass/trim at doors daily.
• Clean bathrooms and restock paper supplies; damp wipe glass surfaces, empty waste baskets, services dispensers.
• Assist the supervisor with other tasks as needed.
• Monitor defects like clogged urinals and lights out; report to supervisors.
• Showers exist between two buildings; travel between locations as required.
• Collect building trash daily; replace liners; high dusting; lift up to 50 lbs.

General Description: A heavy duty cleaner is generally responsible for the cleaning of all hard floor surfaces and carpets, washrooms, common areas, offices, and the collection and removal of garbage from drop points to a garbage bin. Other responsibilities could be included.

Schedule: Part Time, Saturday from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm, Sunday from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm

Responsibilities:

• Sweep, mop, and wash floors, stairs and other surfaces (inside buildings).
• Stripping and waxing, steam cleaning carpets and cleaning windows – on request only
• Wash windowsills; glass in interior doors, partition, and specified windows.
• Wash glass and trim at entrance doors, interior/exterior- Wash/spot clean interior walls as appropriate daily.
• Clean bathrooms and restock paper supplies daily. Standard bathroom procedures are to damp wipe glass surfaces, empty waste baskets, service soap and toilet paper dispensers, dust sills, clean tile walls, shelves, stall partitions, sweep/mop/scrub floors, etc.
• Assist the supervisor with any other assistance that requires help from the employee.
• Monitors possible defects such as clogged urinals and lights out, and reports to supervisors.

There will be showers, they will have to go between the two buildings (they are across the street from each other).

• Collect building trash daily placing it in approved container and place in designated collection area for subsequent removal.
• Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers per specs.
• High dusting, wall washing
• compactors, lifting up to 50lbs, using heavy duty machines, changing garbage.

Requirements:

• Must be able to take direction, to work with minimal supervision, and to function cooperatively as part of a team
• Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment.
• Must have own transportation.
• Requires attention to detail, a pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.

Must be able to pass a Criminal Background Check.
