Job summary

GDI Services (Canada) LP is seeking a heavy duty cleaner to maintain all hard floors, carpets, washrooms, and common areas within our facilities. The role involves sweeping, mopping, window cleaning, and waste management across two buildings, with tasks assigned by a supervisor.

Responsibilities include daily bathroom upkeep, trash collection, and reporting any equipment issues. The candidate should be able to work as part of a team, follow directions, and pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and wash floors, stairs and other surfaces inside buildings.
• Strip and wax, steam clean carpets and clean windows on request.
• Wash windowsills and interior/exterior glass.
• Clean bathrooms and restock supplies daily.
• Assist the supervisor with other tasks as needed.
• Monitor defects (clogged urinals, lights out) and report to supervisors.
• Collect building trash daily and place in designated collection area for removal.
• High dusting, wall washing, and garbage handling.

General Description

A heavy duty cleaner is generally responsible for the cleaning of all hard floor surfaces and carpets, washrooms, common areas, offices, and the collection and removal of garbage from drop points to a garbage bin. Other responsibilities could be included.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and wash floors, stairs and other surfaces (inside buildings).
• Stripping and waxing, steam cleaning carpets and cleaning windows - on request only
• Wash windowsills; glass in interior doors, partition, and specified windows.
• Wash glass and trim at entrance doors, interior/exterior- Wash/spot clean interior walls as appropriate daily.
• Clean bathrooms and restock paper supplies daily. Standard bathroom procedures are to damp wipe glass surfaces, empty waste baskets, service soap and toilet paper dispensers, dust sills, clean tile walls, shelves, stall partitions, sweep/mop/scrub floors, etc.
• Assist the supervisor with any other assistance that requires help from the employee.
• Monitors possible defects such as clogged urinals and lights out, and reports to supervisors.

There will be showers, they will have to go between the two buildings (they are across the street from each other).

• Collect building trash daily placing it in approved container and place in designated collection area for subsequent removal.
• Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers per specs.
• High dusting, wall washing
• compactors, lifting up to 50lbs,using heavy duty machines, changing garbage.

• Must be able to take direction, to work with minimal supervision, and to function cooperatively as part of a team
• Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment.
• Must have own transportation
• Requires attention to detail, a pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.
