Job summary

GDI Services (Canada) LP is seeking a diligent janitor in Fredericton, NB to maintain cleanliness across offices and common areas. Duties include sweeping, mopping, window washing, and bathroom restocking on a daily basis, with light duties across two buildings and potential reporting of maintenance needs.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and wash floors, stairs and other surfaces (inside buildings).
• Strip, wax, steam clean carpets and clean windows on request.
• Wash windowsills; glass in interior doors, partitions, and windows.
• Wash/spot clean interior walls, daily maintenance of bathroom areas.
• Clean bathrooms and restock supplies daily; dispose of waste.
• Assist supervisor as needed and report defects (urinals, lights).
• Collect building trash daily and manage waste liners.

General Description

A janitor is generally responsible for the cleaning of all hard floor surfaces and carpets, washrooms, common areas, offices, and the collection and removal of garbage from drop points to a garbage bin. Other responsibilities could be included.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and wash floors, stairs and other surfaces (inside buildings).
• Stripping and waxing, steam cleaning carpets and cleaning windows – on request only
• Wash windowsills; glass in interior doors, partition, and specified windows.
• Wash glass and trim at entrance doors, interior/exterior- Wash/spot clean interior walls as appropriate daily.
• Clean bathrooms and restock paper supplies daily. Standard bathroom procedures are to damp wipe glass surfaces, empty waste baskets, service soap and toilet paper dispensers, dust sills, clean tile walls, shelves, stall partitions, sweep/mop/scrub floors, etc.
• Assist the supervisor with any other assistance that requires help from the employee.
• Monitors possible defects such as clogged urinals and lights out, and reports to supervisors.

There will be showers, they will have to go between the two buildings (they are across the street from each other).

• Collect building trash daily placing it in approved container and place in designated collection area for subsequent removal.
• Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers per specs.
• High dusting, wall washing
• compactors, lifting up to 50lbs,using heavy duty machines, changing garbage.

Requirements

• Must be able to take direction, to work with minimal supervision, and to function cooperatively as part of a team
• Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment.
• Must have own transportation
• Requires attention to detail, a pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.
