General Description: A janitor is responsible for cleaning all hard floor surfaces, carpets, washrooms, common areas, offices, and collecting/removing garbage from drop points to a garbage bin. Additional responsibilities may be included.

Schedule Hours: Monday-Friday

Responsibilities:

• Sweep, mop, and wash floors, stairs, and other surfaces inside buildings.
• Strip and wax floors, steam clean carpets, and clean windows upon request.
• Wash windowsills; glass in interior doors, partitions, and specified windows.
• Clean glass and trim at entrance doors, both interior and exterior. Spot clean interior walls daily.
• Clean bathrooms, restock supplies, wipe glass surfaces, empty waste baskets, service dispensers, dust sills, clean tiles, shelves, partitions, and floors.
• Assist the supervisor with additional tasks as needed.
• Monitor for defects such as clogged urinals and lights out, reporting issues to supervisors.
• Go between two buildings (across the street) for showers and other duties.
• Collect building trash daily, place in approved containers, and transfer to collection area.
• Replace liners in waste baskets and containers as per specifications.
• Perform high dusting and wall washing.
• Use heavy-duty machines, lift up to 50 lbs, and change garbage as necessary.

Requirements:

• Ability to follow directions, work independently, and cooperatively as part of a team.
• Proficiency with cleaning tools and equipment.
• Own transportation required.
• Attention to detail, pride in service, organization, energy, and endurance required.

Additional: Must pass a Criminal Background Check.
