Transdev is hiring a Heavy Duty/Automotive Mechanic in Kelowna. Earn $49.08/hour in a unionized, full-time role with a 4-day, 10-hour shift pattern and competitive benefits.

You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose issues, and execute repairs to keep fleets safe and reliable. Ideal candidates hold a Red Seal or are a 4th-year apprentice, possess a valid Class 5 licence with Air Brake, and are willing to obtain a Class 2 licence within three months.

Qualifications

• Red Seal Heavy Duty, Automotive, or Commercial Transport Mechanic Certification or 4th-year apprentice enrolled.
• Class 5 BC Driver's Licence with Air Brake Endorsement required.
• Willingness to obtain Class 2 licence within three months of hire (training provided).
• Appropriate mechanic's tool set is required.

Responsabilités

• Perform preventive maintenance, safety inspections, and annual vehicle inspections.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and drivetrain systems.
• Complete brake, suspension, engine, clutch, and transmission work.
• Remove, overhaul, repair, and reinstall vehicle components.
• Accurately complete work orders and maintenance documentation.

What You'll Do

• Performing preventive maintenance, safety inspections, and annual vehicle inspections
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and drivetrain systems
• Completing brake repairs, suspension repairs, engine diagnostics, tune-ups, clutch replacements, transmission repairs, and other fleet maintenance activities
• Removing, overhauling, repairing, and reinstalling vehicle components
• Accurately completing work orders and maintenance documentation
• Maintaining records of parts, supplies, and maintenance activities
• Inspecting completed repairs and verifying vehicle readiness before return to service
• Leading road calls and emergency breakdown repairs when required
• Identifying potentially unsafe equipment and recommending corrective actions
• Moving vehicles safely throughout the facility and designated work areas
• Following all Transdev maintenance, safety, and environmental procedures
• Working collaboratively with supervisors and fellow technicians to maximize fleet reliability

What We're Looking For

• Red Seal Heavy Duty, Automotive, or Commercial Transport Mechanic Certification, or currently registered as a 4th-year apprentice
• Class 5 BC Driver's Licence with Air Brake Endorsement
• Willingness to obtain a Class 2 licence within three months of hire (training provided)
• Appropriate mechanic's tool set
• Strong troubleshooting, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to work assigned shifts
