Heavy Civil Superintendent / Project Manager – Bridges, Highway, and Excavation

We are currently seeking an experienced Superintendent / Project Manager with a strong background in heavy civil construction, including bridge work, highway projects, and excavation. This is a full-time opportunity to join a reputable contractor managing major infrastructure projects across the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead daily site operations for civil infrastructure projects—focus on bridges, roads, and deep excavation.
  • Manage field crews, subcontractors, and suppliers while ensuring project timelines and budgets are met.
  • Oversee health & safety compliance, quality control, and production targets.
  • Collaborate with engineering, estimating, and project controls teams from pre-construction to close-out.
  • Maintain communication with clients, consultants, and stakeholders—issue progress updates, RFI’s, change orders, and schedules.
  • Provide strong on-site leadership and mentor junior staff and forepersons.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in heavy civil construction, specifically bridges, highways, and excavation.
  • Proven ability to manage self-perform and subcontract scopes on multi-million-dollar projects.
  • Solid knowledge of provincial and federal construction regulations and specifications.
  • Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with project management tools and scheduling software.
  • Engineering or construction-related diploma / degree preferred but not required.
