Qualifications

• College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 to 2 years

Tasks

1. Install and overhaul heating systems
2. Install ventilation, air handling, and air conditioning systems
3. Maintain and repair equipment in refrigerated trucks
4. Measure and lay out reference points for installation
5. Assemble and install refrigeration or air conditioning components
6. Measure, cut, and connect piping using welding and brazing equipment
7. Start up systems and test for leaks using testing devices
8. Perform maintenance such as recharging systems with refrigerant, checking and testing regulators, or calibrating systems
9. Repair and replace parts and components for refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation, or heat pump systems
