Job summary

Patriot Forge Corporation is seeking an operator to assist in the heat treating process and related forge duties. The role involves setting up and running furnace controls, loading/unloading furnaces, and using overhead cranes and forklifts in a heavy industrial setting.

The ideal candidate will have Grade 12 or equivalent experience, familiarity with foundry or steel environments, strong English communication, and the ability to work in hot conditions with heavy lifting.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 completion or 2 years' experience in a similar role is an asset.
• Industrial experience in foundry or steel industry preferred.
• Familiarity with material handling equipment and safe handling of large objects.
• Strong organizational, planning, coordination and priority setting skills.
• Good command of English (written and verbal).
• Strong communication, problem-solving, interpersonal and analytical skills.
• Ability to work in hot conditions and to stand or sit for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate furnace and agitator controls.
• Load and unload furnaces.
• Operate overhead crane and forklift.
• Quench forging product.
• Fill quench tanks.
• Check hardness of forgings.
• Calibrate Brinell scopes.
• Grind pieces as required.
• Ensure documentation/record keeping is accurate and up-to-date.
• Maintain housekeeping (5S) in Heat treat area.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as required.
• Comply with H&S management program and policies.

Overview of Position:

Experience:
