Job Skills / Requirements

As a Healthcare Security Officer, you will respond to alarms, emergency requests, and use excellent verbal de-escalation skills to resolve incidents. Maintain confidentiality and discretion with private information, and always provide exceptional customer service with a smile.

Note: Applicants must be located in the Annapolis Valley Area. Out-of-area applications will not be considered.

What You Will Do

1. Provide exceptional customer service with a friendly attitude.
2. Prevent theft, violence, or infractions of rules and regulations.
3. Monitor site visitors and perform ID checks according to policies.
4. Respond professionally to site emergencies such as alarms, medical emergencies, fires, etc.
5. Communicate suspicious activities, concerns, and incidents to dispatch.
6. Prepare and maintain reports on activities, violations, and hazards.
7. Patrol the facility regularly, utilizing PPE, to prevent conflicts and ensure safety.

You're a Great Fit If You

1. Provide exceptional customer service with a smile.
2. Can stand for long periods.
3. Hold or are willing to obtain First Aid/CPR certification prior to hiring.
4. Are eligible to work in Canada.
5. Have prior experience in Security and Customer Service.

Requirements

• Current First Aid & CPR from Red Cross, St. John's Ambulance, or Life Saving Society.
• Excellent English communication skills, including report writing.
• Strong interpersonal skills, professional demeanor.
• Ability to solve problems and respond under pressure.
• Discretion handling confidential information.
• Physical ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to pass security clearance and obtain a security license (license is an asset).
• High school diploma or equivalent and of legal age.

Education and Certification

• High School Diploma/GED
• Standard First Aid, CPR Level C
