Job Responsibilities:
- Present a smart, visible, and alert security presence
- Greet, assist, and direct members of the public visiting the premises
- Ensure the safety and security of clients, buildings, and assets
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Carry out all specified security duties, including:
- Proactive/reactive interior and exterior patrols
- Response and assistance in emergency situations
- Document and report all security events during shifts
- Investigate routine incidents
- Patient watches
- Parking and smoking by-law enforcement
- Hospital policy enforcement
- Access and key control
- Monthly safety inspections
- Additional duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
- Valid Security License for Ontario
- Valid G license
- Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
- Proof of double COVID-19 vaccination
- Immunization records for Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR), Varicella, Pertussis, and TB Skin Tests
- Steps to obtain immunization records:
Applicants must complete immunizations for Measles, Mumps, and Rubella at hire. Those unable to provide MMR immunity at hire will be ineligible.
- Minimum 6 months security experience required
- Healthcare security experience preferred
- Over 1 year of security experience preferred
- Must be able to commute to Kingston for pre-deployment training
- Reliable vehicle in good condition required
- Must be able to train/redeploy at all four QHC facilities (Belleville, Trenton, Picton, Bancroft)
- Must be able to pass an N95 Mask Fit Test (clean shaven)
- Certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB) required
- Training for UoF/MOAB can be completed prior to onboarding if needed; costs covered by Paladin with a 6-month commitment
