Job summary

Securicare is seeking a Security Guard to support our healthcare security operations in Powell River, BC. Based across multiple healthcare sites, you will protect patients, staff and visitors through access control, proactive patrols, and incident response.

The role requires strong situational awareness, professionalism, and the ability to respond effectively in high-pressure environments. A BC Security Guard license and healthcare experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Valid BC Security Guard License.
• 1+ year of security experience, preferably in healthcare.
• Basic computer skills for report writing and incident documentation.
• Ability to complete detailed reports and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexible to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Monitor entry points and control access to the healthcare facility.
• Conduct regular patrols of interior and exterior areas.
• Respond to security incidents and assist in emergencies.
• Follow lockdown and evacuation procedures when required.
• Interact with patients and staff professionally to maintain a safe environment.
• Utilize de-escalation techniques to manage conflicts.
• Monitor cameras and security systems for suspicious activity.
• Document incidents and notify appropriate personnel.
