Primary Purpose

The Healthcare Professional is responsible for initiation of prescribed respiratory therapy in the office or the client home, including assessment, education, documentation, and follow-up to ensure equipment performance and client compliance. Promotion of products and services to referral sources, including educational in-services to medical/healthcare communities, is an integral part of the job.

Key Accountabilities
  1. Initiate and monitor prescribed respiratory therapy in clients’ homes, including assessments, education, documentation, and follow-up to ensure equipment performance and client compliance with therapy.
  2. Delivery and exchange of equipment in clients’ homes may include heavy lifting of equipment up to 60 lbs.
  3. In-home client visits may include long-distance travel.
  4. Conduct in-office consultations with sleep and oxygen clients.
  5. Conduct respiratory equipment in-service training with various community partners.
  6. Promotion of products and services to referral sources.
  7. Build and maintain high-quality client and referral relationships.
  8. Perform all job duties in compliance with safety standards.
  9. Support in the training and development of new employees as needed.
  10. Participate in a regular on-call rotation.
Required Qualifications
Education
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist or a Registered Nurse with current registration.
Experience
  • Must have CPAP training and experience.
  • Minimum 2 years related experience preferred.
  • Homecare and sales experience an asset.
  • Must have a clean/clear driving record/abstract.
  • Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Attention to detail and results-oriented.
  • Able to work under pressure and have a strong sense of urgency.
  • Must possess a commitment to client and personal safety.
