Position Overview

Were seeking an engaging instructor to teach the Healthcare Office Administration curriculum. You'll deliver lectures, guide practical exercises (e.g., medical office software, billing/transcription, terminology, and customer service), and support students in developing professional administrative skills for busy healthcare environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver curriculum-aligned lectures and practical sessions in Healthcare Office Administration
  • Develop and update course materials, incorporating real-time industry trends
  • Evaluate student progress via assignments, exams, and practicum supervision
  • Provide academic support through office hours and mentorship
  • Maintain compliance with PTIB (Private Training Institutions Branch) standards and institutional policies
  • Participate in program/curriculum development and collaborate with faculty
  • Keep accurate student records and contribute to campus-wide initiatives

Qualifications

Education & Certification

  • Diploma or degree in Medical/Healthcare Office Administration, Health Administration, or related field
  • Certified Medical Office Assistant (MOA) designation or equivalent preferred
  • Instructor training (Provincial Instructor Diploma, adult education credential, Train-the-Trainer) is an asset

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years working in healthcare office administration (billing, scheduling, transcription, unit clerk support)
  • At least 1 year experience in adult education or training delivery

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong knowledge in medical terminology, clinical office procedures, and healthcare software
  • Excellent oral and written communication abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and common practice management systems
  • Able to adapt teaching strategies to diverse student needs
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage records and compliance documentation
