Job summary

The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto is seeking a Senior Supervisor to lead PGCRL Facilities Operations. You will oversee maintenance, safety and reliability of critical mechanical and electrical systems while managing a team of staff and contractors.

The role emphasizes cost control, scheduling and adherence to safety standards. You will collaborate with renovation teams, ensure energy efficiency goals are met, and support hospital researchers and staff with reliable facilities operations

Qualifications

• Minimum five years experience as Supervisor of Facilities Operations in healthcare or industrial settings.
• Proven leadership, troubleshooting and team-building abilities.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC controls, BAS, fire systems and energy management.
• Commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operation, maintenance and repair of mechanical/electrical systems to ensure safety and reliability.
• Supervise staff and contractors; manage scheduling, discipline and performance.
• Negotiate service contracts with trades and monitor costs and efficiency.
• Lead preventive maintenance, safety inspections and compliance with codes.
• Prepare cost estimates and coordinate external resources for installations and repairs.
