Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum grade 12 or GED is required.
• Previous healthcare experience is considered an asset.
• Ability to organize, prioritize, and maintain the functioning of the unit in a safe and clean manner.
• Knowledge of Family Centered Care.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Maintains accountability for own decisions and actions.
• Functions independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Clean, mop, and dust all areas of the hospital.
• Perform floor care including scrubbing and waxing floors.
• Shampoo carpets and chairs.
• Remove waste (hazardous and regular).
• Handle chemical spill clean-up and laundry tasks.
• Window interior cleaning and room set-ups.
• Some salt application during winter months and isolation room cleaning.
• Support sustainable/green initiatives per the IWK Health strategy.
