Architect – Healthcare Specialist
Location: Toronto - Gorgeous Office
Salary: $120K + Negotiable based on Experience
We are seeking an experienced Architect – Healthcare Specialist to lead the design and delivery of significant healthcare projects. This role involves strategic leadership in clinical planning, facility design, and project execution, ensuring efficiency and alignment with best practices in patient-centered care. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholders to shape innovative healthcare environments. This position is hybrid, with opportunities to work from offices in Toronto or Ottawa.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead healthcare architectural projects, ensuring best practices in clinical planning and patient care.
- Provide strategic design leadership for hospital, acute care, ambulatory, and long-term care facilities.
- Conduct clinical planning and programming, integrating operational workflows and evidence-based design.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, consultants, and contractors to meet Ontario healthcare regulations and Ministry of Health standards.
- Oversee project phases from concept to construction documentation, ensuring technical excellence.
- Perform cost-benefit analyses and risk assessments related to design decisions.
- Engage with senior leadership, clients, and regulatory bodies to navigate project approvals.
- Mentor and support emerging architects, fostering innovation in healthcare design.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 8+ years of architectural experience, with a strong focus on healthcare projects.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture.
- Registered Architect (OAA preferred) or eligible for registration.
- Expertise in clinical workflows, hospital design, and healthcare facility requirements.
- Knowledge of Ontario healthcare design regulations, including CSA Z8000 and Ministry of Health standards.
- Proven experience leading healthcare projects from early design through construction.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Revit and BIM workflows.
- Business acumen with the ability to contribute to client relationships and proposal development.
