Hastings District Council’s Health, Safety and Wellbeing team plays an important role in helping keep our people, contractors, visitors and communities safe across the wide variety of work we do. We’re looking for a motivated and proactive Health, Safety & Wellbeing Coordinator to join our team. If you're ready to take the next step in your HSW career, this is an opportunity to build your experience while working alongside a knowledgeable and down-to-earth team.
In this hands-on role, you’ll work closely with managers, staff and contractors to support the day-to-day management of risk, encourage a positive safety culture, and provide practical training, coaching and advice. No two days will look the same – you could be supporting operators working with heavy machinery in our waste operations, animal control staff working with animals and the public, office-based teams, or regulatory staff carrying out inspections and processing consents. You’ll also get out on site to carry out audits and inspections, support incident investigations, review and improve procedures, and contribute to wider HSW initiatives across the organisation.
This role includes a rostered after-hours on-call requirement.
