Denison Mines is seeking a Health & Safety Technician for a 4-month contract in the Northern Saskatchewan region. THE ROLE:
The Health & Safety (HS) Technician is responsible for overseeing and performing routine field activities related to Occupational Health and Safety (OHS), providing specialized expertise and guidance to operational units at sites under various states of construction. This role includes supporting the effectiveness of the Joint HS Committee, delivering training programs, conducting proactive inspections, and implementing measures to reduce losses, eliminate hazards, and address identifiedrisks. Additionally, the HS Technician assists with critical operational functions such as incident response and investigation.Reporting directly to the HS Manager, this contract position aims to promote a safety-conscious culture, ensure regulatory compliance, and support operational teams in risk management and safety performance enhancement.This is a 4-month site-based rotational fixed-term contract opportunity working out of various Denison-owned project sites located in the Northern Athabasca Basin Region. To be considered for this role, applicants must be eligible to work in Canada.The successful candidate will be responsible for arranging their own travel to a designated pick-up point in proximity to Denison’s Saskatoon office/warehouse to travel to the Project site, and Denison will provide board and lodging while at the Project site, and all required PPE.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Reliable and diligent, with a strong dedication to operational excellence, the HS Technician brings a diverse skill set in Occupational Health and Safety to ensure that standards, procedures, programs, and equipment effectively support themanagement of health, safety, and risk. Through collaboration, influence, and support, the HS Technician proactivelymaintains and monitors the systems and administration of the on-site OHS function, ensuring accountability and compliance among field-level leaders and workers. Additional qualifications and attributes include:• Post secondary education in occupational health and safety or an applicable related field is required; Relevant work
experience accompanied by specialized safety certifications and/or journeyperson credentials may be recognized as asubstitute for formal education.
• NCSO certification is required; other safety-related designations are considered an asset.• 3+ years OHS field experience in a construction, mining or industrial setting is required; experience in the uranium sector
and within a remote camp setting is an asset.• Experience and training in the following Occupational Health and Safety areas are considered assets: Standard First Aid,
CPR, AED and Mental Health First Aid, Occupational Health & Safety Committee level 1 and 2, Supervision & Safety, WHMIS, Workplace Harassment Prevention, Incident Investigation, ALARA NORM Awareness, Fall Protection, Detection &Control of Flammable Substances, Hot Work, Respiratory Protection & Fit Testing.
• Experience organizing and delivering site induction and safety-related training to employees, contractors, and visitors.• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite accompanied by a willingness to learn and use other technologies and software as
required; Familiarity with Cority or similar EHS software considered an asset.• Good organizational skills with a keen eye for detail and the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities
efficiently and effectively.• Strong interpersonal skills that promote teamwork along with safe, collaborative, and inclusive relationships with
colleagues, and contractors accompanied by solid verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate, persuade, and influence others.
• Demonstrated ability to think critically to effectively evaluate and resolve problems and identify solutions, and be able to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with tasks and objectives with minimal supervision.
• Exhibits an uncompromising commitment to always working safely and without hesitation reports and resolves hazards or unsafe work conditions immediately.
• Possession of a Drivers’ License that is valid and in good standing is required.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Health & Safety Monitoring & Compliance
• Monitor the activities of onsite contractors to ensure compliance to both Denison’s and their company’s Health & Safety Program requirements.
• Inspect the worksite to ensure that it is a hazard-free environment, including reviewing and verifying that all tools and equipment are adequate and safe for use.
• Actively prioritize safety through awareness and promotion of safe work practices and enforcement of safety protocols to employees, contractors and subcontractors.
• Facilitate and contribute to the timely completion of accident, incident and near-miss investigations, hazard assessments, risk reviews, and workplace inspections, ensuring required corrective actions are promptly identified, communicated, and implemented.
• Accompany employees requiring medical evaluation as required.• Contribute to Emergency Response Planning and actively participate in scheduled drills.• Ensure all tasks are carried out by oneself or others in strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations and
protocols and exhibit best practices and behaviours related to both physical and psychological safety for oneself and colleagues by performing all responsibilities and tasks in accordance with the company’s established policies, protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Organize and facilitate the effective delivery of onsite H&S induction, respirator fit testing, PPE training, and other safetyrelated training as needed and required.
• Support leaders in the development and delivery of daily safety toolbox talks and facilitate the prompt communication of safety-related information.
• Attend and contribute to pre-job (kick-off) meetings and conduct pre-construction site walk-throughs to perform risk assessments as needed and required.
• Act as the field-level Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) specialist providing guidance and interpretation of company protocols and legislative requirements as needed and required.
• Build collaborative partnerships with internal teams and liaise effectively and in a timely manner with contractors or consultants as required.
Documentation & Reporting
• Assist leadership with the effective preparation and management of H&S documentation, including but not limited to work instructions, procedures, reports, presentations, etc.
• Review Job Hazards Analysis, review and approve contractor’s critical work requests, and ensure the collection and maintenance of permits for scaffolds, cranes, confined spaces, hot works, aerial lifts, energized electrical works,
• Maintain the incident management system with detailed accuracy, regularly update and disseminate monthly keyperformance indicators, analyze and identify emerging trends, and effectively communicate updates on site safety metrics and other pertinent information to site leadership and internal stakeholders.
Additionally, the successful candidate shall:
→ Participate in emergency, spill and off-shift/on-call support as required.→ Perform other duties as assigned by the Health & Safety Manager and Denison’s construction management team.→ Understand that this safety-sensitive role is subject to various background verification checks and/or testing as part of
the pre-employment screening process and as required thereafter in accordance with company policy.
