Job description

Lead and manage the national Certificate of Recognition (COR) program in Ontario, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.

Oversee updates to the Health & Safety Management System, including COR standards and document control.

Act as technical lead for internal and external audits, coordinating documentation and audit activities.

Manage compliance on pre-qualification platforms (e.g., ISN, SafeContractor, ComplyWorks). Oversee subcontractor compliance through ISN and collaborate with the Purchasing Department.

Liaise with WCBs and Safety Teams across Canada.

Provide guidance on project bid requirements and ongoing customer compliance.

Manage occupational health and safety claims, including complex cases with third-party providers.

Serve as primary contact for the national Health & Safety inbox, ensuring timely follow-up.

Support the national Health & Safety program in collaboration with regional teams and stakeholders.

Maintain and update health and safety policies to ensure legislative compliance and annual reviews.

Support implementation, monitoring, and improvement of Safety Program initiatives.

Administer and maintain the Safety Management System.

Lead participation in WSIB Safety Group / Safety Excellence programs.

Coordinate translation of safety documents with third-party providers.

Develop and deliver training on various health and safety topics to promote awareness and compliance.

Who we are looking for

Role Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Certification as an NCSO (National Construction Safety Officer) or NCSA (National Safety Compliance Administrator) is considered an asset.
  • Certified COR Internal auditor certification is considered an asset.
  • Experience with Pre-Qualification websites is considered an asset.
  • Experience with using Microsoft and PowerBI.
  • Experience in claims management is required, with the ability to handle sensitive and complex cases.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Bilingual in French and English is considered a strong asset.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly (approximately 15%).
