Brunel University of London is seeking a highly motivated Health & Safety Officer to join our dynamic Health, Safety & Environment Team. This role will make a real impact in ensuring the safety, wellbeing and resilience of a world-class university community.

This is a key role in driving excellence across our diverse estate, from cutting-edge laboratories and workshops to teaching spaces, offices and student residences. You will provide professional advice, support and training to ensure compliance with UK health and safety law.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver expert advice and guidance on all aspects of occupational health and safety.
  • Support audits, inspections and incident investigations, ensuring continuous improvement.
  • Lead the design and delivery of innovative training and awareness programmes.
  • Collaborate with staff, students and external regulators to foster a proactive safety culture.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 45001 and embed best practice across the University.

We are looking for an experienced and qualified safety professional, ideally with experience in higher education, research or other complex environments, who is committed to protecting people and enabling safe teaching, research and innovation.
